HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout-outs to my bro Daniel (9/4) and nephew Zach (9/9)! Wish we were home to celebrate with you guys!!
Yesterday we decided we were going to go out to IKEA to get a bumper for Alexis’s crib. I feel so bad for her, she always has her head jammed against the rails at night – and I heard IKEA is the only place to buy a cheap full-sized bumper. It ended up being a 7 hour ordeal. We had to walk 10 mins to take a U-Bahn to the S-Bahn and ride for about 35 min. Then walk for about 30 minutes from the train over a main highway to IKEA. Ugh! It was in some far out little suburb and the walk was longer than expected. Cool thing was we got to see what the German suburban life is like. We ran into an “Annual Potato Festival” – there was music playing, a biergarten set-up, crafts being sold and the best: we got to see the “Potato Queen” and “Potato Princess”!! Ooooooooo! It was a cute town gathering. The food was good; guess what we ate – potatoes!!! Three different renditions! It was a tiring and interesting IKEA adventure I don’t think we will ever forget.
On our way home, after feeling dorky sporting our big, bright blue IKEA bag to the whole town as we walked, we had to wait for the train. There we were standing with our IKEA bag. Then another couple of girls came with their IKEA bags, then another group and another. Too funny - we are all standing there with IKEA bags. The IKEA CEO would be proud to see how he has influenced the world to purchase his products.
Alexis has been having fun in her playgroup. She really enjoys hanging with the other babies and they are really starting to get along well. She has a little cold right now; I think it is cause of the weather adjustment. It has been rainy, windy and cool in the 40/50/60’s. The other morning I had to put on my hat and gloves cause it was that cold. Crazy huh!? My friend laughed at me, because this is nothing compared to what is to come – to me it felt like our Texas winter! Alexis is also walking around holding on to only one hand and she goes fast!! That really freaks people out – you know they all think she is miracle baby, cause she looks like a 9 month old, yet can do all she does. It’s funny!
Ronnie is doing better, he found a doctor here and got the medicine he needed for his headaches. Work is still crazy and very stressful for him, so please continue your prayers for him.
Silly me left our camera at some girls house outside of Munich that I have never met before. Hopefully I get it somehow soon for the trip in a few days. Ugh!! Guess I will be taking a long train ride by myself to get it.
That is about it! We will be leaving this Thurs for Venice, Italy for the weekend. Sure lots of photos and stories will come out of that. Love to all – Us3
