HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mama/Grandma Norma (9/21) and my sis, Melissa & Best Friend, Rena (both on 9/25)!! May God Bless you for many more years to come!! Wish we could celebrate with you all.
GREAT NEWS! Alexis took her first steps on her own on the 23rd (Sunday), but now she is walking pretty well today (24th Monday). Watch the videos!! We are so excited for her and her new point of view she has worked so hard for to see. I’m a little nervous as to the new adventures we will now encounter, as many of you mommies know and remember. Hehehee! My turn to go through the madness and the bumps/bruises! Oh and of course please lots of prayers for her safety!
We took Alexis to the famous Munchener Tierpark Hellabrunn (the Zoo) on Saturday. It is the oldest Geo-Zoo of the world. She was so cute seeing the animals this time around, as she was making many of the animal sounds when she saw them. Amazing how accurate she is already! We also were in the right spot when it came to the feeding time for the sea lions (see videos). We were front row and Alexis was mesmerized – loved it! She could not get enough of the penguins either, just like her uncle Daniel!
On Sunday we all went to the annual Oktoberfest Parade. It was huge - it took 2 ½ hours and it was nonstop with bands, floats and costumes. It was really neat, they had 60 different groups, each representing a beer, car (BMW, MINI, or Mercedes), a state within Germany, and a trade or era. The coolest were the medieval times costumes. The grossest was the hunting dogs with their fresh kill of deer, rabbits, and I don’t know what else because I turned my head. All the décor and costumes were amazing; they really preserved their culture that is for sure!
We go to Oktoberfest tomorrow, so we will see how that is. I am sure we will have lots to tell and photos. Sadly it is supposed to get cold and rainy tomorrow, but maybe it will stop raining while we are there. We planned a babysitter for Alexis and we are going with Ronnie’s co-workers from America, France and Germany – should be fun! We also have some surprise attire to show you guys! ;P
I posted up the most recent videos in the “Videos in Germany” gallery (go to pages 3 & 4). I just could not wait to show you her walking! I will post the photos later this week. Love 2 all – Us3
